Do it right and come to Truckee for the race, and stick around for Independence Day to watch one of two incredible fireworks shows on the shores of Donner or Lake Tahoe. The lodging, food, coffee, and local microbrew options are second to none, and your entire family is guaranteed to have fun.
Since Truckee is so easy to get to and from Sacramento and Reno, you're going to have a hard time making excuses for not joining one of California's premier gravel bike races in this beautiful mountain town.
Like trains? Truckee sits directly on the original Transcontinental Railroad that links the San Francisco Bay Area with the rest of the country via Reno and the Central Pacific (now part of Union Pacific) mainline across Donner Pass, so if you like a good train show, go no further. That kid inside of you, or the one next to you begging for ice cream, will be entertained.
Got a junior racer? Are you a junior racer yourself? YOU GET IN FOR FREE! That's right, Juniors at many of Bike Monkey's events can participate at no cost. That's because we've developed a model that reinvests in the future of the sport, where we've ensured that a portion of every paid entry goes back to support the baseline costs that allow us to make this possible. So to all you juniors out there, enjoy your free entry made possible by the collaborative efforts of our partners and loyal paying participants.
Registration for everyone opens this coming Sunday, at 8:00 AM, for the 2026 edition of Truckee Gravel.
