Truckee Gravel IS

June 27, 2026

June 30, 2026

You had options this past Saturday. The gravel calendar doesn't thin out in late June, and there's always something pulling for your attention. You chose Truckee. You chose us. We don't take that lightly, so before anything else, thank you!

The Weather

We couldn't have scripted a better day: Sun, dry roads. big Sierra sky. The one asterisk was the wind, which for a race producer sits near the top of the worry list, second only to asteroids. We'll take it. A breezy day under blue skies beats just about every alternative we lose sleep over.

The Crew

A day like Saturday doesn't run itself. Our HAM radio operators, rest stop volunteers, EMTs, SAG drivers, motos, on-bike marshals, and mechanics are the reason you had water in your bottle, a course to follow, and someone watching your back in the places where cell signal goes to die. They're the quiet machinery behind the whole thing, and it's not an easy task. Thank you to all of our volunteers and staff for doing their thing.

The Survey, and what about October?

After every event, we ask how we did. This year we're asking something bigger.

Truckee Gravel lands right before a major holiday weekend, in one of the most beautiful corners of the planet, and we genuinely love being here this time of year. But late June isn't Truckee's shoulder season, and we're weighing a considerable change: moving the race to the fall, when the colors turn. Think early October.

This logic is two-part:

First, the economics. Fall is Truckee's actual shoulder season. A race then would steer our impact toward the hoteliers, restaurants, and small businesses that feel the dip once summer fades.

Second, the calendar. The gravel world front-loads itself. The big events crowd the spring, which makes it hard to choose, hard to travel, hard to do as many as you'd like in a season. Fall is quieter. There's more room to breathe, and an opportunity to bookend the year with Bike Monkey.

We also know fall brings its own complications. The kids are back in school. Some of you may be done racing by then. And some of you may be using Truckee as a strategic lead-in to the Fourth of July weekend that currently follows it. We can't know any of that unless we ask.

Before we make a call on something this big, we want to hear from you. So please, take the survey, and fill it out before the end of the week. Everyone who does so before July 4th gets entered to win one of ten FREE ENTRIES into next year's Truckee Gravel.

Results

A finish line is a finish line whether you stood on the podium or not, and many of you got to stand at the podium of your very own finish line in front of our banner to celebrate your personal achievement of willing yourself through every mile of Truckee Gravel that brough you to the finish. Everyone's results can be found right here.

Thanks for spending your weekend with us. We'll see you down the road.

Sincerely,
